A Great Start

In any company, it’s always funny when the “new guy” messes up or makes a mistake. This was just the case my second week of work in my new position as Marketing and Sales Representative for SERVPRO of Northeast Delta Lands. I was sitting at my desk, not expecting to be asked to do anything honestly. The phone rings, and I get asked to take the van to Starkville for the Christmas parade. I’ve never driven one of these vans before so I am already nervous. As I am pulling out of the parking lot and onto the highway, I hear a loud BANG and immediately start to panic thinking that I have hit an oncoming vehicle. I look out of my side mirror and see that the sliding door on the van has come open and air-movers are falling out left and right. Just a big, green SERVPRO van dragging air-movers down the highway. I pull to the side of the road, out of traffic and run back to start picking up air-movers. As I pick up the first one, our office manager, Tonya is walking up to help, of course she thinks it is hilarious while I am in the middle of a panic attack. We got them all picked up and loaded back onto the truck and closed the sliding door once again, except this time, I triple-checked to make sure the door was closed. This is a great example of how quick SERVPRO can get to any disaster, no matter what kind it may be. Those air-movers were out of that highway and back onto the truck in a flash, "Like it never even happened."
